Privacy Policy

MemStats does not collect, store or send any personal data. Everything stays on your Mac.

Short version: no accounts, no analytics, no tracking and no network connection from the app.

What the app reads

To show who is using your RAM, MemStats reads the following on your Mac:

This data is shown in the popover and never leaves the app.

What the app stores

Network use

The app makes no network requests by itself. There is no telemetry, no crash reporting and no automatic update check.

Three actions in the menu and Settings open your default browser on GitHub when you choose them: Check for Updates, Support Us and Report a Bug. Report a Bug opens a new issue form pre-filled with the MemStats version, macOS version, Mac model and CPU architecture. You can read and edit it before submitting, and nothing is sent unless you submit it. GitHub handles that page under its own privacy statement.

Open at Login

If you turn on "Open at Login", MemStats registers itself as a login item with macOS. You can turn it off in Settings or in System Settings, General, Login Items.

This website

This site has no analytics, no advertising and no cookies. It stores one value in your browser's local storage, your light or dark theme choice, and never sends it anywhere. Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs, such as IP address and requested page, as most web hosts do.

Children

MemStats is a system utility and does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with an updated date.
